Hi,

I want to mix down some tracks in Cubase 5 and I'm working with an Audiosport Duo mic preamp, 600mhz ibook w/internal burner?

I am monitoring thru the duo. Don't have a cubase instruction book.

Do I mix to an aiff and then put that on cd? If so, I have no clue how to mix to an aiff.

Thanks

I'm not too familliar with Macs but usually you convert your final mix with the CD writing software. I dont think you can mix to CD format.

iBook is the problem.

Seems you have chosen a computer for its aethetics.

I'm doing electronic music w/vocals. I chose the ibook for it's portability, as I perform live with the computer. I couldn't afford to shell out the dough for a pricier laptop.

I really don't think the computer is the problem, though. I've had no problems tracking everthing, I'm just a little new to mixing down in Cubase. I mixed down from 4-tracks before, so I understand the basic concepts, just looking for that one little helpful suggestion.

Thanks.

Also, I don't have a cd writer software. This is something I definitely need?

What about taking a mix from the line outs on the back of my duo and going straight into an external cd recorder?

Would that work?

My retarded ass figured it out. A matter of not having the "pool" box checked off when I went to save as an aiff.

My beautiful, fully competent toy computer was able to do the job. Thanks for your input.

I will now get up of my ass, as I'm getting ass sweat on my f'n ponytail. Gotta go smoke some marlboro reds. bye
