Hey!

I heard a guy say that someone was telling him that there is a tip concerning recording certain instruments at certain decibel levels and that it helped when it came to mix down.

It seems to me that it would vary because the trim affects the fader setting, right? Anyway, since my friend is Mexican and doesn't speak english I told him I'd ask if anyone had heard of such a thing.

So...has anybody heard of such a thing?

Ola Amigo:

You can affect the sounds of bass, horns, keys, strings, etc., buy tweaking your EQ section of your recorder or mixing board.

If you have to tweak too much, re-record the tune. EQ is a helpful tool but don't over tweak.

I usually tweak bass patches from my DX-7 so they sound fat and funky and bassy. Experiment and you will discover what tweaks make your ears happy.
