From one Pennylvanian to another
Sup brother? Hey man,..I thought this was a good tune. Here are the problems i got with the mix,....
Amp noise in the beginning. Man,..that rythm guitar is wayyyy to small. Definitely needs to be doubled,.. maybe tripled and panned accordingly. There needs to be some verb on the drums. Especially with this type of rock sound. Same with the vocs. I think they are both recorded really well,..but too dry in the mix. That leads me to say,...I dont here a crappy room in any of this. It sounds to me like wherever you record at sounds pretty good,..well,..dead at least,...which can be a really good thing!
Good things about the mix,...Level wise things sound good. I think if the guitars were bigger everything would sit perfectly. Love the guitar tones. That rhythm is thick! Just needs to be bigger in the mix. Lead tones are great. Singers got a good voice. Drums are played well and sound good. I like the bass,.. I think it works in this tune. Sounds good. Maybe just alittle more definition though. But dont overdo it.
Overall I think it's a good tune,..the ONLY thing I dont like performance wise is during the chorus parts. I absolutely cannot stand the "yeah" and the "no" at the end of each line in the vocs. Man,..I'd change that,...sounds really,...hmnnnnm,..uhhhhh,...hokey,..I guess. Like a lounge singer or somethin'. Just my opinion though.
Yer' gonna love that HD man!!!!!!! Lemme' know what ya think about it.
Take 'er easy,...
