I was wondering about something. I love the mix contests that Finster is doing, I have messed with it for fun. But, would anyone be up for more of a home recording one. Finster has an amazing looking and sounding studio. What about some sort of home studio contest, would anyone be up for it? I mean, like bare bones equiptment kind of stuff. Like four mics on drums, type of stuff. How about it?

I think the only problem with that is when you have less than great tracks it turns into more of a turd polishing contest than anything. Well recorded tracks make for much better mixes.

Well, I didn't mean crap tracks. I just meant more of a home recordist's mixing contest. Not necessarily bad though

I'd be up for it! I would even be glad to submit some tracks on it, once my new band gets together. I would be more than happy to mix and submit it.

how about making things hard...
like say record the drums on one tracj
or 2 tracks

lets see who can get the best sound out of taht?

Do not follow this advice Old Geezer.
That would be fucking boring.
I want entertainment. :D

I'm up for the turd polishing contest.

Someone should post some really shitty tracks up and then anyone who thinks they are the "shiznit" can mix em then post the Mp3.

I bet I could be a contender for King turd polisher 'round these parts!

The best I can do at the moment, consists of two drum OH, two rhythm guitars, two lead. No bass or vocals, not horrible tracks though. Someone could make adding bass part of the contest ;-)

post 'em. i'll mix anything you throw at me (i don't promise it will be amazing, but i could always use the experience)

Hety Geezer, talk to me I'll post em for free. :)

My teacher taught me that it is all practice. Polishing turds makes you mix clean tracks better, plus it gives on experience with differtn genre's

Like fins Metal track. I Have never mixed metal but it is way cool to see how I hear it verses the artists vision. Might help me get some more business in this lowly studio of mine :)

Get with giles and post it.
I want to do something different.

Waiting on geezer to contact me regarding whatever files he has.

My track is not ready yet.

Too busay keeping the fone on to work on my own stuff right now. Gotta cater to others :)
