I Hi fi'd it and loved it. Now I am downloading it because i felt like I was missing stuff. Your music always has a sense of "outside the box" that is very cool. When I listened I couldnt help but visualize a Tim Burton movie in my head.

Mike and Steve- The differences in the remix are kinda subtle. A little reverb on the claps and cookware where there was none before. The original clips like crazy on the full drum kit track.
It's not a true remix...just a room check. There are still goofs in the levels, but I didn't consider them that important to the test. It's the percussives that I wanted to hear.
If I give this a full remix, there will be more layers of instrumentation- subtle horns, some poorly tuned violins, and some raven samples I took myself earlier this summer, shit like that. I try to do something different with every recording....a new character in my voice, whatever. EDIT: And whiole I'm addressing you both, I'm hoping to have our collab done this week! I'll need those horns, but it COULD be done
SixStringBlues- I applaud your open mind and imagination man! Danny Elfman does a lot of Tim Burton's movies (if you didn't already know) and I'm a big fan of both of them. The beautiful thing about soundtracks is that the whole idea behind them...in my opinion... is to bridge the gap between the audio and the visual. The music should create an image. The music I chose for this tune wasn't really inspired by Elfman, though it has similarities. I think I tapped more of the feeling I felt when I first heard Tom Waits' "The Black Rider." Holy shit that album freaked me out. That album was both incredibly beautiful and incredibly ugly and it changed my whole approach to music! Disappearing fast were the hard rock and pop arrangements in my life after I sunk my teeth into that stuff.

I just checked this out in my car. It sounds pretty tight but the kick does just that. It boots me right through the windshield and onto the pavement. I have a boomin system in there though, but I should be able to adjust the bass a bit to fix it. unfortunately this isn't the case. If I so if you got change for a twenty, I'll give you my .02c maybe take a little bit of foot out of the kick......Otherwise I love this stuff. The fills really add alot of emphasis for this tune. I love drums, alot......maybe too much for a place like this, but you got them down. Im gonna go give it another listen on another sound system.
