Could this album possibly sound any better? I don't think so.

There's a picture of Miles near a LD mic in my issue of the CD. Does anybody know what mic it is?

Is the engineer Rudy Van Gelder? This guy has done half of all the famous jazzrecords... And is now remastering them all.

Kind of blue is wonderfull. Even if it would sound bad, it'd still be wonderfull...

Nah, it weren't Rudy...though his stuff sounds great too. I have his remastered version of Eric Dolphy's "Out to Lunch". Now there's a record everybody needs.

I'm gonna listen to that one again... Been a while. Kind of blue is a classic too. Everyone just HAS to listen to it.

Just think of it: it has been recorded in one day, all but one tracks on the album are first takes, and most of the tunes were not rehearsed before. Miles even wrote the tunes just a few hours in advance. Wrote, well, he made some sketches. Truely amazing...

You got the remastered version of kind of blue? Mine has the first take of Flamenco Sketches on it too. Very good also... Damn I like that tune.

Kind Of Blue is great.

I read a while ago in a jazz magazine that actually Gil Evans has great credits on Kind Of Blue, but never got recognized for it..

Speaking of old jazz, I got my dad the SACD version of Dave Brubek's Time Out this past Christmas. We did an A - B comparison with the original CD and the difference was amazing. If anybody has a SACD player, there's a SACD version of Kind of Blue and my dad reports that it's equally impressive when compared to the regular CD.
