midi with live

midi and M83 and Mum

M83, Mum, Epic45 ....... does anyone know these bands?..... how would one go about making this kind of music?......... is most of it programmed, or just mostly the beats and drums? would a hardware synth be a must, or does my m-audio midi keyboard with some software do just fine?

Most of it is programmed.

As far as software goes, a good start --- and maybe all you will ever need --- is Ableton's Live.

Get to know it inside and out and it will take you places you never expected to go. Musically speaking of course.

I second that. Ableton is a great program,just spend the time to learn it.
