Afternoon all!!!

Ok so I am connecting my midi keyboard to my laptop via a midi2USB cable which works fine.

I'm trying to use it to punch in the beat on the keyboard using cubase SX3 and EZdrummer.

The laptop recognises the keyboard as a midi device, and I think I'm setting it up ok on cubase but I can't seem to get it to work.

I'm at work so I can't tell you what model the keyboard is but I know this can be done because I've seen it.

A friend did suggest that the problem could lie in the single going from analog to digital or vice versa.

Any thoughs. DMS

Get new friends?

MIDI=Musical Instrument DIGITAL Interface -> going from a device to a computer... I don't think AD/DA conversion is your problem.

Can't be any more helpful than that, I'm afraid... I'm allergic to MIDI and am already breaking out in hives talking about it.... but it will be some setting somewhere in Cubase I would think...

Why don't you try the Cubase forum further down the page...?

It is a setting somewhere. If Cubase sees the midi keyboard, possible check what midi channel you are sending on. Make sure EZ Drummer and your keyboard are using the same midi channel

screenshots would help. Be sure to resize so they fit in a normal browser window without messing up the format.
