Midi to usb?

Hi i have a yamaha dd55 electronic drum kit

and I was hoping to use a usb to midi cable such as the M-Audio USB Uno Midi interface

and Id like to be able to trigger drum sounds from reason 3
windows xp sp3

would this work?

That should work fine, and no, there shouldn't be any latency to worry about.
