Hi there,
O.K., this may seem like a really stupid and basic question but I'm new to home recording so bear with me :-
I've got a multitrack recorder which I'm getting on quite well with and I'm going to buy a drum machine in a couple of weeks ( probably the Alesis SR 16). The multitrack has a seperate MIDI in/out connection and the instructions say to connect the MIDI out from the Alesis to the MIDI in on the multitrack. Sound simple so far?
I just phoned the guitar store I was going to buy the Alesis from to check out the MIDI connections, and the guy started going on about the hard drive not picking up any signal or something, totally confusing me.
So the question is can I plug the Alesis in and record onto my ( or any other ) multi track recorder and get a signal on to disk or do I have to buy the same brand as my multitrack ( a Roland) ?
By the way my multitrack is digital and can MIDI synch with , for example, a drum machine
Thanx in advance
Scott
