I'm totally new to this computer recording thing. I just sold my ROland 1680 to start this and i've got no clue. I have a delta 1010 and I have REASON, Acid, and i've just downloaded a demo version of cool edit pro but i can't seem to sync any of them with my MPC. If anyone know's how to do this with either one of these programs PLEASE give me a holla. I'll appreciate it. PEACE!

i've used acid and reason, and i think i've heard of an MPC, but i don't know what that is...is that a midi controller?

oh yeah, i've seen the akai thing...it looks pretty cool...there are a lot of possibilities.....how are planning to record the audio (not midi)?

DELTA 1010

I have a delta 1010. I have my korg tr-rack, MPC, and EPS going in through the delta. The sound is'nt the problem. I just can't get the MPC to trigger the program or vise versa.

have you loaded a general midi file into reason and tried to play it back? you can do this , though you may have to repatch some instruments to get the sound you want....i think if you can drive reason with a midi file everything is ok with the computer...the thing is then making sure the midi cable is plugged in , setting up the midi inputs in reason, and setting up the channels on the external sequencer.......

i am interested in your question...i just don't do a lot of midi stuff.
good luck

THANKS

I appreciate you trying to help me out. I'm new to this forum and thought it would be madd helpful but apparently not too many people use midi here. I don't understand. I guess alot of people here just use software. I'm used to just hardware and when your trying to mix your stuff down from hardware to the computer, you need pinpoint timing so everything has to be in sync. I have everything midi'd up fine with reason I can play the sounds from the reason modules on my MPC and my eps without a problem. I just can't get either one to trigger the other via midi. Thanks for trying, i'm gonna reffer to the manual for like the hundred'th time and see if something clicks. THANKS AGAIN!

i was at this guys house tonight who had an mpc 2000...unfortuneately he hadn't tried to use it with a pc...i didn't get to play with it but i got a look at it...this made me think, if you are going to use a pc, why do you need this thing? i mean, does it have a special feature that you can't live without? of course, it might, i just don't know....

later gator

MIDI PRODUCTION

I use it to control my Sound module and my Ensoniq eps. I have alot of production done on it that I would like to transfer to my computer. I just got cool edit pro and there's a studio around my way that uses it also. I think i'm just gonna find out through them how I can midi it up with my mpc. I'm sure they'll explain it to me fine cause i'll be using that studio if I can mix my production down to cool edit. The MPC is a very useful piece of equipment if you use hardware for production. I prefer the hardware to produce and would like to mix my music down to the computer. I was able to do this easily with my roland 1680 so i'm sure there's a simpler way to do this with any of these programs i'm using.

well i just thought i'd ask...since no one else is responding to this...actually, i was hoping someone else would reply...i'm sure that there are others doing something similar...i'm kinda of surprised that no one else has responded.
