I am trying to make music with my midi setup. At the moment I have a M audio sono 88, a couple of sh201s, and a alesis sr18. so far I have manged to record a couple of tracks using the sono 88, this is connected to to a usb interface. But when i try to record a sound from the sh201s, I cant get them to record, these are connected to a Motu 128 express, using midi cables, which is connected to the USB interface. I have assigned the synths to midi channels 5 and 6 respectively..the drum machine is working fine on channel 10, via midi cables. The software I am using is Cakewalk 5, my O/SW is windows XP pro sp3. Please can you help me, I am sure it is me, and not the software or hardware.

Thanking you for future help

Andy :-)

Is there midi data being recorded into Cakewalk and your just not getting any audio from it - or are you not getting any midi data recorded at all?

Did you make sure all of the ports you're using on the MOTU are enabled in Cakewalk?
