Midi Foot Controller Compatibility?

I picked up a Roland GR-33 guitar synth unit and I'm new to Midi devices. I was just curious if anyone knew what midi footswitches (if any other than Roland and Boss are compatible) I could use with the GR-33.

The reason I'm asking is because I want to be able to have more tones availably at my feet and the Roland footcontroller made for the unit goes for $300+, and there is a Behringer foot controller with 10 footswitches that is $130. I figure even though Behringer isn't top grade equipment, it would just be switching patches having nothing to do with the sound. So long as the pedals worked it would be fine.

This inquiry may have come off as me sounding stupid because I'm really clueless with this, but that's why I'm asking. Any help would be cool. Thanks

Almost all MIDI foot controllers are compatable with any MIDI gear. I use the ART Ultrafoot. Very cheap on ebay and very sturdy. I"ve had mine for about 10 years and it's been rock solid.

One more question. Are midi board linkable? I highly doubt I'll need more than 10 switches, but just so I know in case something comes up.

i've got a behringer fcb1010 foot controller i'm planning to sell.....it's in near mint condition, and i've got the box and all manuals and documentation....hoping to get about $100 for it. i just have no use for it anymore.

That sounds tempting. But I've got a pretty sweet hookup at a few places around me (I got the Roland GR-33 with the Divided picup for $615, and unless the guys were completely bullshitting me, that's a pretty good deal) and I think the $100 after shipping it would probably come out to be around the same price

The FCB1010 is the only piece of Behri gear I recommend. Mine has worked flawlessly for 2 years, and it has been dropped and stomped on really hard many times. You can link as many foot controllers/midi devices together as you like, there are 16 channels of MIDI to send info on, 127 CC messages, 127 notes, 127 program changes..... that amounts to a whole shitload of combinations.
