Good morning

Hoping someone can help me. I play guitar in my church praise band and sometime use a Roland GR-33 guitar synth during playing. What I'd like to have is a setup that might permit the midi functions (ex. gr-33/drum machine) to be handled via computer out to PA. For example, when our drummer is out I'd like to be able to have a midi drum song play over the PA and perhaps have the GR-33 controlled to some degree by the computer.

My questions are:
1) I'm am assuming the sound quality of the drums and/or other instruments is only as good as the sound card...is this correct?

2) What is a synth module and would that be a better choice to have the computer set the patch but can it play back the sounds directly to PA?

3) What sound cards/synth modules would produce the best sounds for lowest price.

4) What minimum computer requirements are needed to ensure that stable playback/communication with other midi devices added?

Thank YOu for your help.

Buy an older synthesizer workstation with a built in sequencer, decent polyphony and a wide array of sounds. Something like a Korg M1.
