I'am using a software drummachine i Cubase

Do I have to use a compressor to tighten up the groove, or do I have to use a reverb on most of the drumsounds - maybe not the bassdrum.
Please help me....

if you are using midi drums and want them to sound more realistic, there are some tricks to perform:

-run some of the drums through a verb to make them sound more real, which drums and the amount is up to you.

-run the different drums tracks through speakers and then record them to have more realistic sound.

-vary the velocity of the drum hits randomly to eliminate the super consistent machine sound of the midi drums.

-with the step editor move forward and backwards random hits within the groove to make them more human sounding and less stiff and sterile

I donno if this was your question, but what the heck......
