Okay... I'm ready to jump out the bloody window... who does one have to kill to find a MIDI cable for the Mackie MDR 24/96????

They (Mackie) used a serial (9-pin) connector for the MIDI card on the MDR (and HDR)... and reading something in either the quick start guide or the HDR technical reference PDF that these MIDI cables were "Readily available at computer stores"

Ha! I've looked all over to find a standard in/out midi cable that has a 9-pin serial connector.

anyone have any luck finding one?

There is only one type of MIDI cable that I am aware of but a midi cable is basicly a DIN cable. Try searching around for a 9 pin DIN cable and you might have better luck.

I received one with my MDR 2496. I would e-mail Mackie and ask them to send one to you.

After talking to mackie... i checked my box (which I kept, like a good mackoid) and I found the midi breakout cable... tucked in the corner

thanks :)

In the quick start manual for the MDR, it say's that there is an enclosed CD ROM that gives in depth info on the MDR. I didn't get one (no one has actually). I called Mackie and asked them about this, and they said that there isn't a CD ROM, but, that they will "eventually" have an in depth manual available for download. I thought that was pretty lame.
