It looks promising, but for 200 bones I would bet I could DIY a few more than one of those...

Saw it at NAMM and it's cool but not worth 200 bucks! I made a gobo out of 3 hollow doors and 2" wedge foam for a little more than 100.

...$200 is the MSRP...based on other SM PRO product pricing, this thing will probably street at $129-149 (keep in mind that they list Musicians Friend as a retail source)...at $129, it's do-able... ;)

Heck, make one out of one of those portable folding music stands ($15), a straightened clothes hanger ($0.50), some solder ($0.05) and a single 2'x4' auralex panel ($26) cut appropriawtely. That's about $42, assuming your time isn't worth anything, and even better, it doesn't have to sit on a table. :D

mic thing

Don't forget the 1mm thick Metal around it.
Some hinges
And then 1mm rubber coating
The problem with the music stand bit is that the height is only about 1.2M so you will need to be on your knees when you sing

That"s not a problem; I'm recording "Monica Lewinsky Sings the Blues" - the music stand works perfectly.
