What were those strange little mics the fab four used? I am talking about the ones that looked like a piece of wire soldered on to a windscreen that Paul, John and George sang into throughout the movie. Were these mics just used to jam with or did they actually record with them?

I'm not sure what those mics are - doggone it, I can't find Let it Be on vcr and it's been years and years since I've seen it.

But they recorded with Neumanns. I think U67s? Others here will know the precise modesl.

Don't tell me all the die hard Beatles fans out there can't answer this question.

I know what your talking about and I looked in my trusty copy of Anthology and found pictures of them in the studio using their little ball on stick mics. So there's your answer.

But that picture could have been when they were making the movie...

But it deffinately wasn't the rooftop concert.

It's been a *long* time since I last saw that, but I have a vague recollection of those being Schoeps Colettes with the capsule extender tubes and the outdoor windscreens. Could be wrong, though.

They still make an updated version of that extender tube- you'll see a Colette with the tube and the indoor windscreen used as the podium mic on every televised awards show that uses one of those damned lucite podiums...
