I have a BOSS micro br digital recorder which records at a reasonable quality with the in built microphone.

The problem is that when I plug in the ATR25 stereo microphone it records with a low volume.

The ATR25 uses batteries. I have tried it with new ones but that seems to make no difference. I've tried using the microphone to record piano and cello.

you will probably need to select whether you are using an out board mic on the recorder and you will also have to set the gain.

I've worked out what the problem was. It wasn't the gain. I set the Micro BR to record 'LINE' (line in) rarther than 'EXT' (external microphone) so it recorded the same input at the wrong level.

Thanks for the help anyway.
