I'm after recomendations on a microphone for my home studio. I have a budget of around $200-$300 or so and I will be using this microphone purely for vocals. These vocals will include a large range of differences; low and quiet to high and loud singing, growls/screams and possibly some flat spoken dialogue. I'd like to know: even with the loud screaming vox if a condenser mic would still be a better option as to a dynamic like the SM58 or not. And if so, what mic/mics would be best suited to this environment. I'm not too interested in ribbon mics as for now as I do not currently own a 'high end' pre-amp to support one.
