OK, So I went to SamAsh to buy a condenser mic and the guy suckers me into getting this fast track USB thing. It's reallll annoying because when I hit record it only goes into one ear.

Anyways that's not the only problem.
OK, So i'm using Adobe Audition to record and I want to have a better mic quality. What mics should I get. I'm recording vocals/guitar. Now, I know you're all gonna be like many things- well give me the best one please.

Something that would get rid of the stupid humming or whatever, and one that will sound decent CD-ish quality.

Thanks.

if i remember the fast track does not record in stereo.
but you might want to check the specs.
i think this came up here in the past.
try and find a nice used ev dynamic for vocals and micing a guitar cab...
there are a million other solutions...

Also, I'm real low on budget so keep that in mind.

What's all this talk of monitors? I don't understand.
I'm thinking of gettting a MXL mic or Shure and a pre-amp. And have this plug directly into my soundcard. Is this bad?
