I have a matched pair of small diaphragm condensers and all of a sudden out of the blue, one of them began getting really noisy. The mic now picks up a significant amount of white noise. I've pinpointed it to the microphone. I took out the board and cleaned it with some electronics cleaner and that didn't help. What could be wrong?

The mics are Superlux CM-H8K

any one of the following:
1. Moisture on the capsule. Leave power on the mic for a few days to see if it bakes off and quiets down.
2. Bad gain device (chip/transistor) Replace it.
3. Capacitor. replace it.

Thanks for the help! Anyone else have any suggestions? Home remedies?

Could be moisture on the capsule.

try putting it in a ziplock bag with some of that silica gel stuff for a day or two...

yup...I was gonna bring up the silica gel pacs. I keep all my mics in their pouches with gel pacs in each. No problems so far.

Well, it's not the capsule, because I switched it. It's not the preamp nor the cords. So it has to be something on the board :(
