Microphone for guitar amp recording...

The ones I listed above are just FireWire. A lot of others are USB. As long as your pc has FireWire and/or USB you can use pretty much anything. Btw most larger (8 input units) have analog jacks for XLR and 1/4", as well as a midi jack and it all hooks up to your computer with the FireWire or USB.

Check out a website that sells these and look at the backs to see how the jacks all work. Pretty simple once you see it.

But you're saying i need 1-2 mic's for guitar recording, so why would i buy a midi converter with 8 inputs if 2 inputs are enough?
 
You wouldn't. You don't need a midi converter. You need an interface (D/A converter). You could do fine with just one mic input, but you will likely find yourself wanting more in the future. Probably not though if you don't start listening.

Just a bit under assholish?
 
Now your other question...is it better to use multiple mics? Who knows? It may be, it may not be. The answer to that depends on what you're trying to do. Drums usually 4+ mics, vocals 1, acoustic guitars 1-2, electric guitars 1-2, bass 1-2 and the list goes on.

You have received the advice you need. Go pick yourself up an interface/mic and start recording. Enjoy! :D
