I was hoping to get some suggestions for a new mic and mic pre. I quickly recorded a little microphone test to give you an idea of what my voice sounds like.
This was the signal chain for this track:
Bluebird --> Yamaha 03D --> MOTU 828mkII --> DP5
I recorded this track at work. At home, I'm using a 003R+. The vocal is completely raw (as you can probably hear). I also recorded a version of the same little test on a Neumann TLM103 (not my microphone). The file got corrupted somewhere between work and home, so I just threw up the bluebird (my microphone) track.
I guess what I'm really asking is, if I were going to record a track in your studio, what gear would you use? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
