I got the Micro-BR. Very cool little unit. Now I have an mp3 player and a mini 4-track, all in one. Veeeery cool. It’s soooo easy to export the song files onto a computer, into Sonar. So thanks for all the advice. You can go away now. I mean it! Shut up!!!

HEY perfect timing - -

My singer got one of these Micro BR's.
To import backing track MP3's of us so he can practice and judge new vocals with.

All he wants to do is import an instrumental MP3 on to one track, then do vocals over the tune on the other tracks. He can't figure out how to record over one track while listening to another! I'm reading the manual online here and I can't see anything about it either. (I'm usually pretty good with decipering manuals).

And he's got a dynamic mic with XLR plug, I 'm assuming he needs a converter that will go down to 1/8".. not using the guitar input but the little 1/8" one yes?
How I can help him make this dang thing work ??

thanks

>All he wants to do is import an instrumental MP3 on to one track,

Download the program from the Boss site. It’s the BR-900 utility. He may have to convert the mp3 to wav then use the utility to transfer it into the player in order to be able to record with it.

It automatically plays the recorded tracks while you record the other tracks.

Yes.

I got everything I know from the included manual.

Some of the onboard effects are typically not too great, but I’ve found that with outboard effects the unit sounds exactly like the original material.
