put the drvx1 on the snare and the akg mic on the bass.
the otehr 2 no brand name mics use as overheads.

im gona go record somn, a while back, i got like 3 or 4 of those cheap drvx1 mics or w.e the name is, not to be mean, but they kinda suck. because they dont have a very big range, they sound muffled, but for some stuff they are ok. They also dont have great fidelity!

ok, here is a mic shoot out on a 5x14 pork pie snare. the mics in order are: MXL 991, Shure Sm58 and Drvx1. All recorded into a Firepod at 24/48. All mics are at the same spot and recorded at the same time. i think they all suck!!! Sounds NOTHING like the snare. Iam thinkin about my sm57 that i left at a friends

Snare Mic Shootout

Can you try the same shootout but have the mics on the bottom/side of snare? I've been wondering about getting another 603/991 to put on the bottom or side for more snap

ill try a lil l8tr. I have 42 stand snares on that sucker, so itll be snare-ey! I do have a question for all u pros! Y do the sm58 and drvx1 sound like there is no body or tone. The kit is ontop of a 3/4" plywood drum platform which is raised about 6" from the ground! HELP!

well thanks (guys who attempted to answer my question).
