Mic to contrast SP C1?

I'm trying to decide on a mic for a contrast to the SP C1. While I like the C1, I would like another mic that is not as hyped on top for vocals and other applications where you just might not want that "somewhat overboosted" high end. I guess I'm looking for a little warmer sounding mic. I have a SP C1, 2 SP B3, 2 SP C4, 2 SM57, d112, ATM25. Preamps are Langevin DVC and Sebatron vmp-4000e. The projects I do are mostly blues, country, and a little old classic rock. I'm currently looking at everything I can find about these:
Shure SM7B
EV RE20
AT4047
ADK A51TC
Oktava MK 319-are you likely to get a "GOOD" one from sound-room?

I am wondering what some of your experiences are with these mics.
I want a good mic for vocals, but one that is going to be as versatile as possible for instruments, too. What are your favorites? Is there a standout in this crowd?

Thanks

You want a contrast

A mic not hyped on the high end, get a AT 4040. It would be a nice pairing with the C1

Any one of these should do the trick, and are all very good options for what you're looking for.

The odd thing is that the SP T3 would also qualify, particulary if you have them tweak the capsule to make it yet more "flatter".

In the dynamics, also consider the RE15 and MD441.

Get whom to tweak the capsule??? Brent??? ;)

I suppose you could also get a Nady mic and have that tweaked to sound amazing, too. You could even gut it and replace it with all vintage Telefunken guts if you wanted and I'm sure it would be freakin' awesome. :D

True enough Chessrock.

The "standard" T3 has a smooth response though, whereas the C1 wouldn't be a first grab for singers like myself who have ssssibilancsse isssuessss.
(although mine is fairly moderate-mainly pronunciation)

God forbid we use a "bad" Rode NT1, it could rip your head off! :>

Ya from what I have listened to at The Listening Sessions all the Rodes seem brighter and more metalic to me.

I have the C1, and a mic that seems to complement it nicely for me is the Marshall MXL V67. So far, a lot of voices do well on one or the other.

Chess,

Actually, you even don't know how close you are to the truth. With right parts and tweaks it can sound surprisingly good, even without Telefunken guts.

dudge... I agree with chessrock... but, those mics may not be my first choices... but, at least none of them are SP mics and that in-it's-self will help your new mic sound different than your SP mics. ;)

Also, checkout something like the Shure KSM44, AT4050, and etc.

Well, the ADK might be the most similar out of the bunch . . . since it's made in the same factory. Probably off the same assembly line. :D

The ADK TC is very smooth. If the C1 has hyped upper mids (I've never used it, so I don't know personally) then it doesn't sound similar to the TC. The TC has a big ol' low end and a sweet, smooth high end. The TC is the best mic I've ever used on my voice.

From what I've heard on the Listening sessions . . . as well as from other users, friends, etc. I don't doubt it's a good mic. I'm impressed with everything I've heard so far. It doesn't seem to "follow the mold" as far as most of the 797 Audio, Feilo, or any of the other Chinese stuff is concerned.

dudge, the ADK TC is pretty smooth and not that colored. I think a great mic - if you're looking for something that's "warm" and "not as hyped on top" - the MXL V69 ME would complement what you already have very well. Very versatile mic.

Also Groove Tubes GT44. Real workhorse. Great on vox, amps, acoustic, drum OH's - especially through the Sebatron - percussion... Nice, meaty, present, warm sound.

Either of these mics are excellent for "blues, country, and a little old classic rock", and a perfect complement to the C1.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and the welcome to HomeRecording. :)
