Mic Stand Help

Hi,

Due to the advice here, I have decided to get a matched pair of Hamburg LEs and an SM57. The Hamburgs will do double duty on voice and acoustic guitar and the SM57 will be for my electric. I could use some help with mic stands. Any ideas?

You should get some!
Kidding aside, some tripods would be good and I tend to favor the AKG KM-211 adjustable booms.
I'm sure other opinions will follow.

I'm really happy with my two Pinnacle "heavy duty" mic boom stands. The base, particularly, is very solid. And the boom is really easy to adjust. I am considering a couple of the regular Pinnacle tripods just for the heck of it. I'm also happy with my two Samson MB1 mini boom stands. They're nimble as can be, and also very solid. I'd like to try a straight stand like an Ultimate MC75. That one seems nice, but we'll see what I end up with later.

I've had 2 of these for years, and they have never let me down. I have seen a post from a guy who got one with a bad weld, but these, in my experience, are the cheapest *real* heavy duty mic stands out there They extend to something ridiculous like 12 feet, absolutely will not tip over, even with wicked heavy mics, and the locks and cams are solid as hell. -
