so i'm interested in buying a set of microphones and have been researching like mad for the past 2 weeks, thinking about what i need exactly and how much i can spend

basically the only real mic i have is a behringer b2 pro and some crappy dynamics

i need it primarily for vocals, acoustic guitar (classical), a guitar cab here or there, assortment of cheap percussion and ambiance micing.

this guy is selling a rode nt1000 and a matched pair of mxl 603s for 320

i'm wondering what you guys think of the purchase especially for my needs

thanks guys

Not a bad deal.

Just for the fun of it, go to the PMI Audio site :

http://www.pmiaudio.com/

Click on "Marketplace", then click on "B stock", and look at what they've got. Maybe you'll find something that tickles your fancy.

The RODE NT1000 received good reviews when it was released.
Of course there are many on this site who praise the 603's especially in their price range. I'm actually surprised he is selling this package at such a low price.
If they are all in working condition, you will have a very nice set of mics.

Those seem to be at the bright end of the spectrum. That's OK for acoustic and percussion, but I'm not sure you have a decent mic for cabs. Unless you have something good in your cheap dynamics.
