Hey guys, I just moved from Pro tools to Logic.
I never used Logic before. I don't get any mic signal from my interface in Logic

I have connected my M-audio firewire 1814, through preferences - general and audio.
My input and output device is the firewire 1814.

When I connected a XLR mic to my interface I get a signal in my M-audio mixer but I don't get any signal in my logic mixer.

What should I do?

Peace out

I'm imagining you're neither seeing nor hearing anything from the mic in Logic, but you're seeing a signal on your interface.
Some very basic questions (kinda like IT questions is your computer turned on :) Have you:
Created an audio track and channel strip for your mic?
Selected the correct hardware in (for your where your mic is physically connected to your 1814) on your channel strip?
Enabled phantom power on your interface if the mic requires it?
Turned up input gain for your mic on the interface?
Pushed up the volume on the audio fader?
Record enabled the track/strip?

If your output is Firewire 1814, you'll need your monitors/speakers connected to the 1814 to hear anything.

Typically I have my output set to "Built In Output" and connect my monitors through a series of adapters into my 1/8" headphone input on my macbook.

Definintely check if the track in "Record Enabled" meaning the little "R" box on the track is clicked and displayed red. Then there's the "record" which is on the bottom Left, more towards the bottom center. It's a circle with a dot in the middle which also gleams red when enabled. Good luck!

I figured it out. Just a dumb newbie mistake.
I should have selected my input or output or what ever when I created a new track.

Thank you guys :)

God I remember when I first started logic it took my a week to figure out that I just needed to click that damn I.
