Mic>PreSonus PreTube>MOTU 828 Interace>Ableton Live

Hello all! Total noob here. I'm trying to run my Sterling Audio ST59 mic through my PreSonus PreTube which I'd like to run through my old MOTU 828 FireWire and then to my MacBook Pro which is running Ableton Live.

Current set up:

Mic>XLR>PreSonus mic input

PreSonus mic output using XLR to 1/4">#3 input in back of MOTU 828

MOTU 828 FireWire>MacBook Pro

I think I have the setup correct I just know nothing about which channels I should be selecting to actually start using the mic in Ableton.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I know nothing about Ableton, but I'm guessing you would use the Motu #3 channel.

But here is a suggestion.... take the PreTube out of the equation. Plug your mic directly into channel #1 of the Motu and try it that way. Don't forget to turn phantom power on if the mic needs it.
