If you had to record a band in a very small room with only one large diaphragm condenser, one small diaphragm condenser, and two SM57s, where would you place the mics?

There all the following instruments packed into a small bedroom:
Electric Guitar
Electric Bass
Keyboard/Synth (mono)
Kit Drums
Hand Percussion (which is usually mic'd and played through the keyboard amp)

I'll be running the mics into a mixer then recording to mini-disk in stereo. I realize that I don't have enough mics to record everything properly, but I'm not looking to get studio-quality sound here. At this point, I’m just trying to get a very general idea of how we sound—not record an album or a demo or anything.

Thanks!

I'd use the two Shure SM57's in a stereo pattern and place them in the room where they sound best and I'd hope for the best.

Any ideas as to where I should point the mics? I guess I could just put them in a wide XY against one of the long walls and try to get everything in.

Yeah, try X/Y. Against the wall most likey won't sound good, but try it. Just move the mic's all around the room until you find the best spot.
