Mic not gettin picked up??

my mic is not gettin picked up i got the out put of my mixer going into the input of my soundcard y is the computer not picking up the recording but the mixer is?? and wat does my settings on the mixer have to be??

which outputs are you using?
If you're using Alt 3-4, then you actaully have to have the mute button in to route the signal to those outputs.

Just a suggestion- this came up on another thread so it's fresh in my memory...
