Hello,
I want to record my drummers toms with three 57's, but the only thing I have found to mount them is a $50-ish mount made by Shure. Does anyone know of another (cheaper if not free) way of mounting 57's on toms?

Thanks in advance.

Bare in mind that most tom mounts shouldnt be used for recording, They rattle and make noise. :(

Also they wobble all over the place if your toms aren't held in place very well by there iso system.

I'd stick with mic stands, But what will you be using them for? Live? Studio?

I'd be using them for studio recording, but I'm going to try out mic stands after thinking about what you said about wobbling.

thanks

Yes, the DM-50 4-pack is where it's at! - I bought them and they're plenty sufficient - no problems at all. Make sure you get them off ebay.

i've had a six pack for almost 3 years, and not one's broken.
(some live work too, but i'm pretty nice to my stuff)

Go with mic stands, you will have more options with mic placement.
