i've heard people refer to mic modeling, is there software in CEP or Sonar to do mic modeling?, if not, what software does, and do they work well?

If it's only EQ, then it's pretty much a waste of time, right?
That's a great explaination. The thing that's cool about it is that by just randomly picking some presets, I can sometimes get a REALLY cool sound out of an instrument or vocal track that I never would have considered doing through EQ.
