I'm looking for a foam padded case I can put my mics in. I remember in a post way back when about how some of you here bought a foam padded case for about $25 at hardware stores, online. Does anyone no were I can get one?

Harbor Freight Tools has aluminum tool cases (Lot No. 39196) on sale right now for $19.99 and they work perfect as a mic case.

Thanks for the info people.
MrGrooves are the cases you have filled with foam? That way I can put my mics in it and squish it in there and mold it to the mics?

DJL I couldnt find the case model at harbor frieght.

Where can you get silica gel packs to put in the cases?
Ebay, shoe stores, and hobby stores (they use them to dry flowers).

I just saw the sale in the new Harbor Frieght Tool Flyer this week... I have about 20 of these cases... they have the foam and etc and they work great for mic's. It said (Lot No. 39196) for the cases on the flyer.

i've got one of those lowes cases for my dynamics. i like it ok. i can't say that i have high confidence that the foam will last, though. i have nightmares about that foam disintegrating and getting all over (and in) my mics. but other than that, it does a fine job.

I use to share your nightmare dreams... a long time ago there was a Shure mic that came with it's own little white plastic case with foam in it... and after a few years the foam turned green and into mush that damaged the mic. That's why now I put my mic's in a plastic ziplock bag with a few silica gel packs and put it in the ziplock case that come's with the mic... then put that into another plastic lip-lock and into the foam padded aluminum case's and the case's into the mic safe. I know it's over kill... but, I sleep better and I have a lot mic's and never use them all at the same time, so some are always stored.

DJL you were right about the model number. They dont have that item listed on there website. I swung by harbor freight today and picked one up. It should do the trick. I should have picked up a second for my ntk and power supply. Now to get some silica packs and some zip lock bags.
