when im not recording a project that will that last more than a few days i dont want to take down mics and pack them up because of a fear that i wont get the same sound because of placement next time i put them up. i need the sound to be the same for every session of the project. is there anyway to protect the mics without having to take them down and pack them up?

Hanes tube socks, $5.99 for six pairs. If you want to worry about it that much.

Paper luch sack, or ziplock, over the mic, but not sealed. Just enough to kepe the dust out, but still allow for some air circulation. I guess if you have a dryish room it wouldn't matter if they were sealed tight or not.
