Here's part of my set up:

Mackie 1202 VLZ Pro mixer
Mackie HR824 monitors
Neumann TLM 103 mic
XLR Monster Studio Pro 1000 mic cables
TRS Monster Studio Link 500 interconnect cables.
I know I should use the XLR for the mic (no choice really)

The Mackie mixer has both XLR and TRS outputs to the monitors.
And the Mackie monitors have both XLR and TRS inputs.
Here's my question:
Should I use the XLR or the TRS cables to connect the mixer to the monitors?

Is there a quality difference between the two types of connectors?
They are both "gold plated and balanced"
Seems to me I should use the XLR cables, but not sure.

Thanks for any input,

In my experience, XLR connectors are more rugged than 1/4" connectors. Are you going to be moving your setup around alot?

No, I won't be moving around at all.
My main concern is sound quality.
Which one is best for sound quality, or does it matter?

Is there a sound quality difference between XLR and TRS cables?

Don't sweat it dude. Use what's physically most convenient in your setup.

Make sure that all your TRS jacks are equivalent to the XLR though before setting up. In a lot of cases when you've got both XLR and 1/4" jacks, the 1/4" will not be balanced.
