MF replaces "stupid deal of the day" with "new product of the day"

MF replaces "stupid deal of the day" with "new product of the day"

I only took advantage of those deals a couple of times (an amp foot switch, and an 88 key keyboard gig bag-- both good deals actually), but I got in the habit of checking that regularly. There were occasional steals there-- recently some electric and acoustic guitars on clearance, but more often than not things like lightly discounted gear or ronnie james dio ceramic collectable figurines, but it was at least a nice idea.
Today w/o any advanced warning the spot on the MF site was replaced by the "new product of the day." :mad:
 
you need to bookmark www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid. i've got it bookmarked and check it every day. there was a new stupid deal today (a TC stage monitor).

so i don't think it's necessarily "gone"....it's just not prominently on the front page of the site anymore. time will tell, i guess.

hopefully the dio figurine will cycle back around but probably not because i made its existence up :rolleyes: :)
 
Well I'm glad that's cleared up. "New product of the day" has no pizzazz. Whereas, "Stupid deal of the day" really captures the MF vibe. ;)
 
I just tried that link, and the frame on the page where the deal usually is, it's buh-lank

I don't G.A.F. about the new product of the day, you know? Gimme a stupid deal!

It's working for me, right now. There's a ddrum Diablo She-Punx 4-piece drum kit for sale for $249. :)
 
So it is - wish I had the 250 to spend, as I have been looking for a cheap kit with those dimensions. :P But then I am not a girl...
 
Clearly a loss leader type thing.

They're hoping you'll buy this then get sucked into buying some matching hello kitty strats and some daisy rock guitars. You too can be in a Nirvana cover band.
 
Well, that daisy rock shortscale bass had gotten my attention, but until I see some reviews... and frankly I have been wanting a Hello Kitty pink guitar for a while now :D but until they drop in price to about half (what they're worth if you consider the neck you're going to have to replace to make it feel like a real guitar, to me at least) I ain't going for it. Yet.

I can't see any stupid deal today. I have it book marked, and I tried your link. I also tried both Mozilla and IE. Nada! It's gone from where I'm sittin.
