Hey, Rocket.

I don't use N's metronome, so i can't offer much help. I have seen quite a few questions about how to use it on the N Track forum, tho'. That tells me quite a few others have had problems figuring it out as well.

I just tested it here at work on my work PC (SoundBlaster 128 card). It only worked when i selected PC Speaker.

Other than that, i can't help you.

I believe the metronome is a midi sound, so unless you have another sound card in your computer that will play midi, (the 1010 doesn't) you cant make the metronome work.

The 1010 has MIDI i/o...

If you have an external midi device you could route the metronome to the 1010 midi out and use your synth/drum machine/whatever to play the metronome click...

Otherwise...I've never used n-track...but does it support any simple kind of vst instrument that you could route the click to?

Best thing to use is a $5 copy of ACID Music 2 or FruityLoops.

Render out 8 or 16 bars as a .wav file and then bring it into N and dupe it out the length of your song and delete it or mute it when you're done.

TONS easier....

Right, Tim. I use Fruity Loops to render the click as a WAV. FL can also be used from within N as a VSTi.
