I didn't listen to any of the other entries yet so i could do mine unbiased.. i've got to head to work in a lil' bit so it's not as tight as i'd like (3rd take), but hey.. it's all in fun.

setup: nord electro 2 organ (8,6,5,4,5,5,3,6,4)(V1 & fast leslie, no perc.) mono into a DMP3. Quick 'n' dirty.

now on to listening to the others...

Hi

Good one shiatzu, the organ sound and the playing fits well the song. When I started mine, I was planning the have a lead on the keyboard but I was struggling to much with the keyboard so I went back to a guitar lead. Hopefully, your entry will make more keyboard players enter those contests.

/Jack Real.

Kainz - WOW.....is that a harmonic minor run at 0:20 ....i actually really wanna learn this solo its so good lol

I'll post my rumble up soon guys...

BTW guys, where is xfinster....i thought this rumble would have been right up his street....plus i really wanna hear some crazy metal solos from him lol

Shiatzu, I liked the organ solo. Got some good counterpoint going on there... did you track two separate lines, or together, one line in each hand?

:D DOG...... Maybe I am really weird or something...But, yours is my favorite. My reason being, that you have took your geetar to places I actually hear in my head! I thought that was so cool.

You hear all those tones, notes, and timing, and you do em!!! That is another reason I love it. Adventurous!!! Keep up the 'out there' sounds!!!
I'm glad you didn't "cut and paste". ;)

By the way guys, the ones I have been able too listen to were great! I thought you all did fantastic jobs on this.

Now if I can figure out how to set my Modem properly, I will be able to listen to more.

I love these Rumbles, I hope ya never stop doing them!!

Tim, my first two takes were pretty much the same but i was doing both hands at the same time.. but in the interest of time i decided to record them seperately for my 3rd take and then just went with it; it just makes it sound a little cleaner.

next rumble i won't cheat, i promise.

On your modem, have you gone into properties, and looked for some setting like idle time before disconecting? This might need to be changed.

Well this sounded cool so I decided to give it a shot.........
I don't consider myself a metal player but hope you guys dig it.
Done with a hang over ;-( w/ les Paul into Pod XT

Very cool solo. Fit perfectly with the track. Nice and flashy at times, but tons of melody. I liked it a bunch. Les Paul into POD....direct? I ask just because I have a POD XT, and have been playing with mic'ing an amp, verses direct. Nice tone on yours.

Good stuff, you've got some chops. You say this isn't normally your thing so what is? It sounded very much like to were comfortable in metal.

Thanks guys!
Yeah 95 Gib Les Paul into Pod XT direct into Motu 828. Well I grew up listening to all that stuff, but I wouldn't say my playing style (or what I like to usually play) is very metal. I Got into SRV, Gilmour, and obviously EVH was a big influence on me.........maybe thats where the flashy stuff comes from lol
I actually posted a song in this forum that I wrote and recorded.........its pretty laid back and mostly acoustic, and that seems to be what Im doing lately.

thanks again!
this was fun, I havent been checking this forum out that much, but I will be looking for more things like this in the future!

Two Words for now to describe the geetar I am listening to........KICK ASS!!!!

One to describe the cymbals....annoying (don't want to insult anyone though)

This is a combination question/comment.

You aren't a Metal player? Could have fooled me. :D

That was great!!!! I liked the low tones you brought in, and that 10sec wild thing at 1:00. I wish that would have been longer. The ending was cool!!!

You dudes can kick it!!!

I am listening little by little as my puter allows.

I love this part of the forum best, because you get to do what music is about. ENJOY!!!! :D

That was good. Nice to hear the keyboards. If I could play better, I just might get in on one of these myself. Hmmmmmm, we'll have to see how brave I am. :D

ha.....they are rediculous aren't they? I was trying to replicate my drummer at the time who was all over the brass - all the time (possibly a AVH disciple?).....somehow poor programming skills on a drum machine don't seem to quite sound the same.... :D :D :D. I knew I was asking for it posting this! :D

dammit, I can't listen to these new submissions here at home (horrible dial-up connection) can't wait to check them out at work Monday Morning!

I suck at improv and my first notion for something melodic like this would be to go for a more slow/harmonized sounding lead but since this is a "whole take only" type rumble, I obviously didn't want to start overdubbing and ruining the spontaneous feel.
This was my second take. I stopped at the 1 minute mark because im not the type to try and play 5 min solos, i was out of fresh ideas before 30 secs was up haha but oh well. I had fun while it lasted.
I am not sure I listened to the right one. Sergo?, or something like that.

That one was cool. I liked your power play.

One more soundtrack to a movie with chase scenes in it. I seem to be hearing a lot of those lately. Hmmmmm......may just be a sign. Or maybe I am stuck in the soundtrack zone. :D Congrats.
