I was wondering if any one knows what i can do with this situation, i own a fast track interface, fender strat, rocktron metal planet pedal and a gx-600 crate half stack, and i want to find out how i can get the best sound out of this all for recording to my computer. and also what i should use for recording software for this aswell? and any suggestions on other equipment.

Have you tried using a microphone? Seriously, I'm not trying to be a dick. Direct guitar usually sounds like crap.

yes

i have tryed that but, im on a very low budget right now as you can tell by my equipment and i only have a shure pg58 mic and i dont know where to position it or any thing so any help? and software to use for m-audio fast track?

you can buy an ES 57 for like 30 dollars(an SM57 clone). Place it 1-2 inches from the grill cloth and start right in the middle of the speaker cone. There are so many threads about capturing a good guitar tone. Just do a search. You'll get like 1000000000 replies.

Check out this article. Lots of swearing and sarcasm, but lots of very useful information on guitar recording there. Read it all. It is worth it.
