Yep, they're not even Russian... it's a Slovakian company. They're great tubes. I came across some dud 12ax7's when buying in bulk from a supplier, still came out ahead price wise... but I'd recommend buying through Bob at Eurotubes or thetubestore.com

I have a dc-5. The mesa power tubes are a no brainer if you don't know what to pick from. I save myself the hassel and buy the mesa label power tubes. They have never let me down on the carnage guitar tone.

However the preamp tubes would be a better place to experiment. My experience with JJ tubes are terrible. The best success I have had is with the tung-sol high gain tested valves. They are a bit pricey but not ridiculously priced. Also in the mesa the chinese groove tubes if you can find them. I believe also the sovtek EX valve.
