Some of you know that every year the kiddos and I record a secret Christmas song for momma. She never knows what it is until we give it to her. So once again here's my annual Christmas song with the kiddies. :thumbs up:

That's an old, old christmas song, like from the early 50's or something. It was sung by a little girl. Kind of Shirley Temple-ish.
 
Nice family tradition. When the kids get married you should give each one a compilation CD of every year (they could torture their spouse with it later on). This is becoming a tradition here at homerecording.com as well. Happy holidays to you and your family, Gergopottomus

I actually got a hippopotamus for Christmas last year, it was an abso-f@cking-lutely unmitigated disaster.

Great song and a great updated version, my kids have been singing along
 
An excellent addition to the seasonal spice tray. I think I have the last several stashed away somewhere - must play on xmas day! How about a Texas Xmas song? F You I like Xmas, particularly when it's in Texas kind of thing.

Hey Gerg - this even sounded great on my tinny laptop speakers. Most enjoyable - was the slide whistle thing real or a sample? I was just thinking of getting a kazoo the other day, you know.

Thanks Ray. I don't know any Texas themed Christmas songs. I'm sure there are some though with the ego this state has. Maybe Ill write one for next year. :D

Thanks dude, you too. The slide whistle is real. I have a nice little collection of noisemakers and odd stuff. I have two slide whistles. One's wood, and one's metal. This was the metal one. I need to get a new siren whistle. The one I used for this song doesn't sustain like it used to. Seriously. :laughings:

My fave is my rattle clap. When I went to buy it, I only knew what it sounded like and was trying to describe what I thought it was (i.e. something that spins, similar to a football rattle) to the man (well, boy) in the shop. It didn't go well, then I spotted it on the way out and the penny dropped.
