Yeah, its a really great mic. It has about become my most used microphone. My friends who record all want to borrow it so it is almost always in use. A relative bargain at that.

Welcome to the SM7 owners club. This has become my favorite all-around mic in my studio. I love it on vocals running in to my Neotek Series I channel strip, and it sounds awesome on guitar with my Ampeg Jet paired with an e609 Silver. You just need a TON of gain for this mic to really speak.

I'd also and another MD421 or two. After that I'll likely upgrade the c1 to something more serious - like a lower end Soundelux, a GT, or maybe a BLUE mic. We'll see...tis a year or three down the road before that'll all happen

Next purchase is an Audix D6 for kick; maybe a second AKG C414 someday. Realistically I should be able to do most anything I need to do with this batch of mics.

Oktava MK219 Upgrade
Well I finally had some time to sit down with the Michael Joly upgraded Oktava MK219's. First of all the Mics are alot quieter in comparison to before the upgrades. Second of all the frequency balance on the Acoustic guitar is incredible. It's like he took a wad of cotton off of the capsule. I still have a lot of testing to do but in a nutshell, before the mics sounded like crap and now they sound fantastic. Well worth the low price for the upgrade.

Added another AT-4049a (so I now have a pair), another pair of Beyer MCE93s and a Neumann Gefell M582h tube mic with an M7 capsule. I'm intrigued by the Michael's modded Oktavas. I think I'm going to have to buy a 219 and send it in. Looks way cool.
