Total: 13 $1319 Not bad I think.

Where on earth did you get two 421's for $100? I just paid $200 for one!

I am also working on building a small mic closet... right now:

3 sm57
2 beta 37
1 beta 52
2 SP B1's
1 SP C3
1 Senn 421 U
2 RS PZM's

But again, where did you find the 421's at that price?

Acorec,How do you like the ML52?

Don

I have not had a chance to use it that much. But, I find it works excellent on guitar cabs and vocals. You need a really good mic-pre with lots of clean gain to use it. It works wonders with the Viocemaster Pro. A great combo.

I voted 6-7, though I only have four but I do have two on order.

The four I have are:

AKG D321
Sennheiser MD421 II
Beyer M99
Beyer M201

And I'm expecting a pair of Behringer ECM8000s

I also have an original Tandy (the name wot Radio Shack called themselves over here) Realistic PZM that I cut the 1/4" plug off of, but I haven't gotten round to putting on the XLR I was going to replace it with.

Update.

Well, the Behringers came and sound pretty good on my acoustic and various percussiony things. This morning (at around 6am (yawn)) I won an EV 635A on E-Bay and I'm currently tracking an ATM25 (also on E-Bay).

I was really surprised to find that I hadn't replied to this thread before...

Well, here goes

1 MXL V67G
1 CAD E-100
1 Rode NT-3
1 Shure SM57
2 AKG D2300S
1 Vtech dynamic

and last, but not least, one REALLY big problem with G.A.S.!

I record myself for the most part. Vox, acoustic guitar, shakers and such. Always pictured myself a punk rock star, but found that my vox excel in acoustic/jazz like context.

SM58
General Audio GXL2400 (agh. got it for free)
AT4033/SE
AT4047
Oktava MC012
Oktava ML52 (Lundahl xfmr mod)
CAD E200
CAD M9
BLUE Baby Bottle
BLUE BlueBerry
BLUE Dragonfly Deluxe (with KIWI capsule)

Looking to add:

Beyer M260
KM184

May be someday:

Shoeps CMC6 w MK4/MK5
Coles 4038
B&K 4011
Korby CM3

ML-52....

I originally found mine to be too lo-fi and with a funny resonance at mid-lows with my vox.

I swapped out the transformer with a Lundahl 1:37 one, and removed the protective clips covering the ribbon element.

It now sounds a lot better. Much smoother, like something straight out of old vinyl recording. Still needs lots of gain, and if your sound source is too close to it, you can make the housing resonate which is kinda problematic.

I sort of have a mixed feeling about this mic. I can see it being a great horn mic though.

Hi!

What do you think of the behringer b-1? I just bought one,
but I find the low-cut filter a bit strange. Some strange noise occured when I switched it on, some kind of low-frequency
rustling sound. But this only occured when I set the gain level
higher than necessary.
