and The Brain...
Well, decided on acoustic, but still have the techno bug... so it's an interesting mix to say the least. :D

This was a solo thing this evening. Gained some more Acid skills trying to get the loops properly EQ'ed and balanced.

it has a good groove..probably would lend itself well to vocals.. something about the sound lacked fidelity, but I can't say what.. interesting solo.. cool but a few sour notes.. the acoustic sounds a bit boomy.. I like the progression!

I have been messing with acid lately and hardly use any e.q. at all on the loops.. they seem pretty processed already..

Pinky,

I liked the track. It had a nice feel to it overall.

There did seem to be an incredible amount of bottom end in the recording. At times it sounded like the acoustic guitars but then in spots I could hear a keyboard part of some kind playing along with it. Is this where the huge bottom came from? It sounded nice but, yes, a little too boomy.

The solo guitar sounded wonderful! I loved the filtered effect you put on it. I can think back to many Zappa solos from the 70's that had a similar Q filter effect but yours sounded busier then his. Perhaps because it is a digital effect of some kind?

Cool sound all around though.

Keep up the fine work!

Cheers! :)

Acoustic eh? The acoustic gtr could use a bit more clarity, IMO...
briter strings or mic... really a cool grove, though. Like the
progression... the major/minor switches kick butt.

The low bass/lows on acoustic/kick drum are fighting in your mix and
producing mud in the process. Guitar would benefit from some light
compression, as well.

Really nice leads in there... almost a wah/talkbox like FX. Nice
change at 2:15... maj/min7 ... nice...

If you could get more clarity on acoustic & clean up some low muck,
this would open right up... really sweet.

Wow, thanks... I was actually disappointed with the lead... artist=own worse critic

I know about the muck, should have heard it before I did some work :D I'll reapproach things and see what might be causing it... it could be the extra bass loop I throw in from time to time, I'm pretty sure it isn't the acoustic/bass fighting as I EQ the bass out of my electric/acoustic tracks so the bass stands out better.

No keys in the tune, 2 acoustic tracks, one electric playing the major 5th on the top 2 strings, and the electric lead through my Boss PW-10 Wah pedal...

Thanks again for listening.

(the New) Melodramatic

I found some of the bass issues, and it was indeed a problem with some acoustic/bass clash...

Sounds a lot better now, and I added some crisp to the acoustic guitars.
