Mellotron Choir?

I'm working on a few tunes right now that could really use that great old Mellotron choir, as heard on old prog records like Trick of the Tail & the like. I heard it used on a song by a band called OPEC that nobody but me seems to have heard (I'm the lone college radio listener in America, it seems), but aside from that, I haven't heard it since the '70s.

Any idea if there's software or a patch or something that can get that sound without the need for tracking down and hauling a bigass Mellotron up to my apartment?

Check out BatSounds' Mellowsound. Not as cool as the m-tron, but free, and an acceptable choir.

This site http://www.hollowsun.com/vintage/index.html has all kinds of free analog synth samples, including a few Mellotron samples:

- Choir (The classic 4 male/4 female choir tape frame. Once referred to as "the choir of the undead", it is majestic, romantic and gothic in equal proportions with a particularly powerful male section. Much beloved by Genesis and Japanese synth maestro, Isao Tomita.)

- Boys Choir (This is a rare sound from the Mellotron tape library and features a 15 voice boys choir recorded at St. John's Woods Church in Birmingham, England in 1971.)

It also has a little history about all the classic synths, various pictures, etc. Just a great place to visit and spend some time.
