...
hi all,,,

i have a quick question that hopefully someone will be able to help with...

i have two md421s which were once small tuchel/din/3pin fitment...

they are now xlr, but i believe them to be wired incorrectly...

both of them operate just fine (i think) but if you touch the exposed metal parts of the xlr leads, or the basket,,,,it will give a ground buzz (similar to when you dont touch the metal on a cheap guitar)

i was wandering if anyone has a definitive pinout...

ie 3 wires come out of mic....red blue and black...

how would i wire them to an xlr cable/connector...

i have the physical parts and components available to me,,,,,i just need to be sure the pinout is correct..

they are cream md421n's with the 5 position bass roll off (also willing to bypass that if it's as simple as just taking it out....

thanks in advance folks..

ok,ive got an update

i'm pretty sure i have the right pinouts now,,,cos both mics work, and the buzz when touching metal is gone..

however, one of them will give a really thin buzz all the time..

this is only noticeable with the gain at 10 on my octopre,,,but it would still worry me..

any common faults or obvious things i can check people??

i've uploaded an audio clip illustrating the difference..
