Anybody used an MCA SP2 large diameter condenser microphone?

I've been checking these out too mainly because theyre inexpensive and can optionally run on a 9v battery. Never tried one out but read a post elsewhere that said they're made by MXL and use the same diaphram as the 990. Dont know if that means they'll sound the same though.
